all right tonight it's our 2020 State medalists recognition night event and normally every year and this annual event slide with all of our parents Arthur Sierra Avenue Albany with this new covid-19 Titanic we're doing this opportunity so who's behind the door and he's going to be with me and putting virtual night events together with all the wrestlers features which will be presented before calorie count on you guys can all be watching it later so we're going to be doing and we will remover mask identify three really hot up here and we're just making our sheets with distant but we realize how crazy this last nine months have been for everybody I mean who would have thought back in March and now 8 months later that we are still where we are at and who would have thought that would we still doing distance learning and might not even have a rest of the season or not so yeah it is definitely has been challenging for everybody for you students OU wrestler is trying to plan and prepare for a possible season that we could have a part of your family for the school and all the teachers everybody yeah it's been pretty difficult for everybody so I need to continue this event and do what we wanted to do was to would do it all for today good night again starting off with this wall and I think you guys can probably see part of the wall right now that we talked about this wall what is the history of all these names up here I wouldn't mean anything if you look at the quality goes back 1969 950 it for 1969 and there is so much history in all of these names and Boards could you see so many different families siblings father fanfic I'm up here and I guess it was back in the 1969 borders and things students and it's pretty incredible what the board means what in Spanish a lot of hard work commitment discipline for all those all these names that you see up here and there's a lot of other great names that are not up here I work extremely hard and they you see how difficult it is to get up here forever left up to doing it in history just so I don't know how I feel really rested probably still follow anymore so they still follow it is so hot right now time for that is going to be history of the Night Team accomplishments before we going to lunch meaning of the name am I out this 2020 wrestling team this voice team has won the last 14 of the last 50 BMI Ohio this year the girls in Wanderer 9/9 come outside of the last 11 years and probably the greatest eating was this year's getting our girls and wild title back from Baldwin and winning vote boys and girls Mi all tied up the girls or the state runner-up girls game the boys took 6 a very respectful respectful takes place in a poltergoose a very young team bolt boys and girl did graduate song but not a lot okay so we're looking forward to the boys and the girls teams in the future so all right again costar.com Conrad coutinho hang up in a little while so all right to the first one rating for tonight's event is a was it was a freshman who took fifth place last year is Kiva Caballero wouldn't take the 112 lb weight loss coach who is not here trying to go your name so I'm going to be going up the ladder and invading your name and she's going to be right back with your speech someone unveiled he was named right all right Diva now cured is Kiva liquor speech so surreal I have waited a long time to earn my name the board and I have finally done it I would like to thank all of you who have helped me get to this moment. I want to thank my uncle for allowing me to Drexel and pain for all the supplies that Trestle thank you coach Neal and Coach Shane for always giving me tips on how to improve my golf swing thank you quotes for teaching me moves and bullying me into morning practices at 6 a.m. thanks coach Todd for always pulling me aside and helping me improve my bottom wrestling which she still have to do thank you coach Conrad for letting me out of all people to train at your home and teach and for teaching me everything that I know and definitely least of all my dad now just kidding for always being in my corner and getting me wonton chips anyway I'm thankful for you all thank you to all my girls for beating me up during practice most of all Alicia the best partner ever I love you so much all of you I could have done this all without you thank you I love all the roosters in the background next we're going to have a dolphin in the last couple weeks who was a junior and is now a senior and something that I didn't say at the beginning is you know we're all praying do you have a season especially for our outgoing seniors are senior class this year that probably will hurt the most if we don't have a season in the senior so do you have a season but doctor took place I'm going to enjoy all right falcon I just want to say thank you to everybody not really got me into this point and got me on the board you know I went from a kid that just wasn't motivated at all and going into wrestling my sophomore year was a lot I just seen on how do you know the program was how good it could do for me to get on that board but thank you so much I mean like I was your son and you help me throw out everything to the morning practices you thought of me when I was lazy and without you I don't think I could have all the coaches alarm everybody I just felt and I don't think this whole program is Tatiana kept everybody organized everybody was doing the right thing this program is so amazing I need to say and little things like that just helped me so much I know you weren't here as much but just a little time. I'll get with you I'm so thankful that I was in so much coach tell didn't you know he would help me a lot a little things I need to say eggs in early funny and I want to say thank you because it means a lot to me to get onto the board you know I just came to the kid that just really had no motivation to so coming to the program and be motivated to accomplish in something really good because I haven't I didn't accomplish anything like this in my life you know and I just want to say thank you to my teammates two of my partner is going to own fatty like you guys helped me so much throat literally everything like we had good I just think you guys dimensions Reddy Ice alright the next we have our fourth places from last year's state tournament we had a freshman who I didn't just you know the expression is all have so many years of fearing failure so much talent and experience that they're competing for state titles from their freshman year is pretty incredible so our first one Ford Place freshman now sophomore is Naomi cuckoo a lot solid 97 Palms nice and now here is Naomi homie wet her speech is in the top six and the fact that I for this a big accomplishment and I could have pushed myself to go a little bit higher I let my emotions and my attitude take over and I blocked out everyone would try to help me I'm sorry to my teammates and Michael as for how I acted but I'm just thankful that I got where I am thank you to Tiani my amazing partner who pushed me just kept on putting with me thank you to the girls team for always being supportive and positive thank you to all the coaches that I'm you guys helped me a lot by pushing just reminding me Michael tell me to work harder thank you to my mom and dad and everyone who came to support me I really appreciate it I remember in 8th grade when I didn't want to continue wrestling in high school because I was scared I was lazy and I'm so glad I did because it helps me a lot. and I'm so glad that I stuck with it and I just can't wait for the season start already just want to wrestle and I just can't wait for what two seasons go is 4th Place to the sophomore now she's a junior she is doing her distance learning with her sister on Molokai is Lydia Lily Ooltewah 122 everybody I know you guys can get a chicken's but anyways I like to say thank you to my coaches my wrestling partner is teammates and my family you guys next season also in fourth place was one of our senior captains Jesse Fatty Doo Doo off you was at 1:45 we are definitely going to miss him and having him up here and hopefully you'll be up here at school helping out so fatty all right for Daddy because I guess he's just being too lazy on Molokai to do his own keys so I am speaking on behalf of status I guess all I would say is come as a cold or a fatty or years you're battling in the strong growing up watching you over the years, but growing up maturing be more responsible position of being at one of the captains of the of the team your senior year they just watching you grow up I mean I think that's probably the biggest thing I'll get and I hope your doing good hopefully using save and you know you who your brother and everyone you guys are always welcome back into the resting room has coaches so anytime you back up again we welcome you back anytime all right so fatty take care all right now I'm going to move to Fort Wayne with their we got she was a junior now a senior 155 lb we got play Rosario and when under your name is nobody else can go off on this 200 pound ladder holy crap by saying never did I think that I'd be here Beach because I never did plays up until my junior year I went to States my freshman is past my ear but blocked out empty-handed and it definitely took my motivation and whether or not I wanted to because I felt that I would end up getting the same results but I'm definitely proud that I came out and wrestled and ended up taking fourth it's me it's definitely one of my greatest accomplishments that I've gots to accomplish it was one of the goals that I spent and I'm super happy that I went through with it which was my name on the board and although getting my name in the middle when I'm stands the best I'm still happy with what I got and how far I've come I would just like to thank the coaches which car. Thank you for making me jumpsuit 155 and seeing the bigger picture thank you for opening up your garage and allowing us to come workout and giving up your free time to make sure we are prepared for any tournament thank you coach Todd for cleaning the room thank you for checking in at the blue asking if I'm doing okay. Are thankful cozyna saying thank you for all that you guys do too as well coach Donovan thank you for thank you for making each and every one of us has grades are great and we get to rest on the weekend we blessed to have the girls team you guys are the best super proud of each and every one of you guys definitely enjoyed season this year without you guys I would have been where I am today thankful for the whole team as well love the support system that each and every one of us have for each other and I'm truly blessed a lot of my life I would like to thank my family you know for always being there and thankful for your guys's family for supporting me as well I just want to say thank you to those who watched me grow over the years and started from intermediate up until now thank you so much is $19 as well if they see me from the beginning thank you for play me whether you're near far you know I love you thanks for always being here for me and I'm just grateful to say that I rest of the lahainaluna and that this is the best team ever without you guys I wouldn't be I am so thank you to each and everyone of you alright next fourth place we have matai who is joining the rest of his siblings up on the board can you know came to us who grew up in our youth wrestling and move back to Maui and lahainaluna and got his name up there 4th Place 195 Buckeye here is my ties Peach alright so first off I'd like to thank my coaches and all the coaches for sacrificing your time and help me develop all the to accomplish team and personal goals I know I've been caught slacking a lot but I really do appreciate and respect you guys for all that you guys do for the team secondly I'd like to thank all my teammates some great memories with you guys and some lifelong friends along the way and I can't wait to see what you guys will accomplish in the future I took fourth place at State something I'm not proud of I believe if you guys I'm about to leave if you do something you should do it to the best of your capabilities which is something that I didn't do last season and I regret that to all the new wrestlers believe in yourselves cuz I believe in you and you know sounds cliche cliche cliche as f*** you can accomplish anything you put your mind to work hard for and that's something you should all do first place should be all of you guys are goals nobody strives to be second place let alone fourth place like me and I believe you guys are better than that and you guys can be the best if you guys do believe it on January 24th I will be playing in the Polynesian Bowl RCB you guys should go check that out I'll probably post what time inside or something on social media so yeah and I love you guys stay safe and wear a mask piece kill represents a true student-athlete on Timmy he serves as a model for what every athlete should be someone that's just not a warrior on the mat but also in the classroom I looked up his grades today all the way from sing Brady threw now in 12th grade he's never got less than an A and I looked at his ranking today he's number one out of 210 seniors so I'm proud that he really excels in the classroom and I know he does not outside of the classroom in the wrestling room including being part of Robotics so I'm just really proud of what he has achieved in the sport of wrestling in order to show his resilience to his injuries and to come back and enter really compete why he's just someone to me that I hope all of you of that are watching this can can learn from and emulate to give your all and all areas of your life including your school work your wrestling in your relationship with all your teammates in your family will love you Erie scales Beach Aloha everyone I want to say thank you to everybody who made this even possible my family and lahainaluna Ruffino Hannah that supported me all these years my coaches. my teammates will push me to be the person I am today have a train is for always fixing me whenever I am broken this year I was very thankful that I could wrestle for most of the season back up a second space is amazing I'm really grateful looking back I would have learned over the course of my wrestling career I found the idea of Kaizen to you really influential to continuously improve is really partial running Sprints to get a tenth of a second faster or lifting weights to be able to lift a half a pound more for the next time all of it adds up over the course of the season 3 come out wrestling at lahainaluna have taught me to constantly get better just a tiny bit every day this is something I hope everyone can realize to continuously learn have to continuously improve finally to my fellow seniors thank you for all the time we spent together over the past 4 years in the case we do have a season Lexington KY to go thank you all right the next state runner-up last year was a sophomore now Junior 117 Alicia Frank again ladder has a 200 max weight that's why the other coaches cannot come up here seriously just wondering Alicia now here speak because I really have no idea how really made me hungrier for a State title Coronavirus just thinking that I don't even have like a chance to redeem myself I can't show everyone that I should have won that match about it first tournament it was the Icebreaker is like really change my perspective you know it just like it changed everything I start winning more matches I stop going easy at practice it really it really paid off it really honest copper just trying to show everyone like I'm still training it happens to the best of us usually winning but the one matches not really paid off a couple times really like it's hot every week but I guess I just pulled a I got first and I got the second speed of space that knows I got second-seeded states and how long does it take to run across was horrible rode me on top I semifinals match I really we were you and then basically I think I am capable of it happens I'm just going to come back better and stronger and it's going to be way better for me we're hard on me every single person I really appreciate everything it really did change me for the better push me to be a better wrestler alright the next state runner-up we have is a three-time state Placer he made it to the state finals this year as a junior and this is canola lanoza 126 first thing I want to say is that this doesn't feel right yet I feel like this is way better than nothing at all I hate the fact I just hope everything is really messing up our season if he can have it season this year what makes me more upset is that this is my last year icing for this program and I don't even know if I'm going to rest or not I'm at a point where that I still hope you have a season but at the same time I'm not going to lie I hope you bicycle down to it I will be ready to battle and ready to cut some weight if it's needed as of right now I'm still trying like there will be unrest in season I'm still doing whatever it takes to stay in shape for the season like what Coach Connor tells us train to be prepared for the worst pain. Or a long eyes down would be me physically and mentally and I'm thankful that they did it cuz it made me a better wrestler on a mat if you have a season this year and want to finish up my last year trying to get finals at Pawnee and hopefully except for their becoming a state champ I came in short last year in the finals Armour warming up waiting to be called up to the arrest thing to wrestle in the middle of the Blaisdell Arena and for me and nothing is more nerve-racking than having to wait in line to it's your turn to a so happy to be in the middle of the blades out two guys battling it out on live TV I still lost but one good thing oh yeah I did that I didn't give up I can't rest until the end and I've accepted it that I lost and a pint that's one thing I like about wrestling you can't blame anyone else but yourself for losing counseling coaches you can't blame your teammates it's your own doing he lost because you lost get back up fix it for the next guy I want to say thank you to alumni that come up to room take time from stay and help train us kids I want to say thank you to Fatty's Africa V all the boys that would be my  up on and off the mat make me arrest I am now and helping me get to where I am now tical cajuste you guys make sure I was always Inn check-in sure I stayed focused he has made a huge impact on me the past few years that he has for it I want to say thank you to coach Dean and Dean for all the technical s*** Diaz get teach me no more practice meter I was on leave how to say thank you to coach Don and for always believing in me when I don't even believe in myself cuz Todd you old guy still have a strong a script for a grandpa Coach Ken Crawley spraying State qualifiers with special shirts and thank you coach, for bringing me into living room never thought I'd be this strong yet here I am I still getting shower you're my coat since I was a little kid resting for rotten eggs Club season thank you thank you quotes next up we have estrela 4 time state champ recently just won the national title Virginia division she took second Fargo bring her High School career and yeah we're really excited to see what she does in college the next four years and onto maybe in Olympic gold hi buddy it's Nana I'm coming to you guys from Utah I'm so so happy to talk to you guys at that is under these circumstances but this way at least I can give my sweet selfie to think I will try and keep it short and short and sweet I know that I don't have a lot of time that I only have one minute for each state had also we'll just get straight to the point lahainaluna coaches you guys have shaped me to be the person that I am today there's no doubt about it the lessons that each and every one of you have taught me we'll go beyond wrestling and it goes deep into my life and I will never forget you saw me how forgive how to talk to people how to be a leader and how to listen go to Zane you taught me to always keep a positive mindset that I can overcome any obstacle that's thrown my way and that I can do whatever I put my mind to coach Shane taught me to never settle for where I am to always strive for greatness and to always be the best person and wrestler that I can be coach Kim you kept me spiritual and you've always guided me to go to the right pass and be the best person that I can be as well could Conrad you tell me how to laugh and have fun but always know to get right back to work when it's needed coach Donovan you taught me that I'm not chopped liver I'm so happy that and everyone of you are in my corner metaphorically and literally and I will always strive to make you guys proud with everything that I do in life I love you guys thank you to my parents who will at the drop of a hat do anything to get me to where I need to be on to support me and help me through everything I love you guys and everything I do is for you to my little freshmen babe who are now sophomores that's crazy I'm so happy that I got a year with you guys and I hope that I was able to teach you guys some lessons and I want you guys to know that I'm always in your corner although I'm not sharing the night with you guys I'm there for 100% just give me a call or a DM if you guys ever need anything I promise I will get back to you and I will help you out the best of my ability you guys are the future of this program you're not to be messed with the next time we're able to jump on the mat show everybody in the state that lahainaluna is not the program to be messed with my sophomores who are now. I got a little bit more time with you guys and I know how hard you can work and I know that you guys deserve a championships I know you guys all deserve titles you just have to put in the work and all believe in yourself and remember who you are and as soon as that happens you guys will be unstoppable to my seniors my heart goes out to you I am praying that you guys get a season or you get everything that you hope for I'm so so sorry that it's under these circumstances and Culvert is messed everything up but I know that everything will work out for you guys you just have to keep pushing hard and never settle or where you are no always strive to be better and always strive to be great and just enjoy life this is going to go by so fast and it's going to be like  for a little bit it's going to get really sad for you guys will all be okay I promise keep up on school work to you guys want to graduate shout out to my 707 you guys know who you are let's not talk about that anymore another shout out to the managers I love you guys I miss you guys thank you for while you guys are eating because you guys don't want to share with the rest of the team during practice I think it's funny I think but thank you for minding my own business and just letting me have a going back out to practice I appreciate it love you guys this is going to end I wish I could make it more personal but I'm sorry I have so much to say and I don't want to spend sending us 20 minute video you guys all know how much you mean to me boys program my girls program and I hope that I has guided some people and giving you life lessons thank you for supporting me and giving me some of the best 4 years of my life I'm happy and I love you all right to end the evening we have our last song Shannon garimella who time two times speed champion and what an incredible career she's had and what an incredible journey career board right here I think there's no other I think in the state that has seven state titles between all of the siblings probably only the pure genius probably Shannon just always believe in yourself always believe in yourself in everything you do here is her Optimus speech right and say thank you to my family my mom my dad and my siblings I'm to the coaches and all my teammates for everything I did for me this either I appreciate it and I'm done. second State title still here asking but it is what it is love you guys peace out all right recognition nice to put this evening on I mean.
