Lahainaluna High School Foundation held its annual "Legends of Lahainaluna" awards dinner on December 4 at the campus Hale Pa'ina.
The 2025 honorees included, from left: Lahaina Restoration Foundation as business partner with executive director Theo Morrison accepting the award plaque. Alan Kawaguchi, retired Athletic Director for LHS and former SPED teacher, Class of 1962. The posthumous award recipient was Ted "Boss" Kawamura who led the successful and highly recognized Agriculture Learning Center as well as the FFA, Future Farmers of America group. Accepting for her late husband was Yaeko Kawamura with her son Mark. Marion Muller, retired administrator and former counselor and registrar.
Also recognized for her years of service on the Board was Elizabeth "Betty" Sakamoto who was awarded a Director Emeritus plaque on her retirement from the Board.
Assisting with the presentation was President Mark Tillman, and members of the Board who were able to attend: Myrna Ah Nee, Matthew Erickson, Lisa Francis, Laurie Kam DeGama, Susan Yap, and Director Emeritus Rob Shelton. Executive Director Art Fillazar served as MC and event coordinator.
