Dear Lahainaluna families and staff,
We’re saddened to share the news that one of our students, Jaycee Santos, a sophomore in our Fully Self-Contained (FSC) program, has passed away.
Jaycee was part of our Lahaina school community for many years, having attended Princess Nāhiʻenaʻena Elementary and Lahaina Intermediate before joining us at Lahainaluna. While his day-to-day interactions were mostly within our FSC program, he was known and cared for by our staff and students who worked closely with him.
We know this news may be difficult for students, staff and our wider school community. To support everyone during this time, we will have specialized grief counselors and support staff available for any students or staff who may need someone to talk to.
Our thoughts are with Jaycee’s ‘ohana and loved ones during this difficult time. We will continue to prioritize the emotional well-being of our school community in the days ahead.
