Lāhainā schools are celebrating a successful art auction fundraiser that raised $14,000 for the four schools affected by the wildfires in August. The auction featured artworks from Lāhaināluna students, a Lāhaināluna teacher and other local professional artists. The auction was organized by science teacher Judd Levy and was a collaboration between art galleries on Maui and Oahu, The Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation, and the Hawaii Department of Education. The culmination of the auction took place at a live event at Island Art Galleries in Waikiki, where seven Lāhaināluna art students had the opportunity to showcase their talents and see their creations being appreciated by the audience.
