Our first week at the Kūlanihākoʻi High School campus went as smoothly as possible, and we are thankful to our hosts and the entire BKKM Complex Area for being so accommodating. Our students have been tremendously positive, flexible, and respectful and are doing the entire Lahaina community proud.
I also want to thank the Maui community for the outpouring of support for Lahainaluna High School. The staff appreciates the tremendous amount of donations for our students and we are overwhelmed by just how much we've received.
At this time though, it would be best for the school if we could focus the next two weeks at Kūlanihākoʻi to distribute the supplies we've already been given; and so we ask that continued donations be held off until we have a chance to return to our campus. We are focusing on identifying those in our community who have suffered loss and been relocated, and providing those students and their families with whatever resources we can.
Should you or your family have any specific needs, please contact Vice Principal Debra Arellano ([email protected]). She has taken charge of our distribution efforts, and we will try to offer our support as best we can.
Again, thank you so much for all the donations. It’s truly heartwarming to see how much this community cares about Lahainaluna and its students.
