Congratulations to our football team as they captured their 4th consecutive HHSAA Division 2 title by defeating Kapa’a High School by the score of 21-10 this past Friday at Aloha Stadium. In the win, Josh Tihada rushed for an all-division single-game state-record 310 yards and 3 touchdowns. In all, Josh rushed for 1,087 yards and 18 touchdowns on 176 carries in state tournament play. His 19 total state touchdowns are seven more than anyone else. Earlier in the week, Tuipulotu Lai won the KHON 2 Cover 2 Lineman of the year award! The defense held in check a potent Kapa’a offense to 10 points and Tre Rickard intercepted a pass late in the game to seal the win. Congratulations to all players and coaches for an excellent 11-1 season! I mua Lahainaluna!

There are many of you Lahainaluna alums who were part of the band program under the baton of BRIAN KELLY. Please consider joining us as we honor him posthumously as one of the 2019 LEGENDS OF LAHAINALUNA on Nov, 8th. His sister and husband and their three children and two grandchildren, along with Brian's foster son, William Tan, will be flying in from the mainland for this special event...please come and share your aloha and meet his 'ohana. I am also having a memorial service planned for Mr. Kelly on Saturday, November 9th at 2pm at Holy Innocents Church....anyone would like to say a few words or offer your musical talent for service music???? Any group of you would like to organize yourselves to play Peter Gunn and The Horse in tribute???? Also looking for a volunteer who can collect any photos of your time in Band with Mr. Kelly and place them all on a photo CD and present it to the family.
