Hey Pohai, DO YOU HAVE YOUR ID, LANYARD, and school uniform on? (Pohai TO SHOW her ID WITH LANYARD with uniform) If you have lost your ID or forgot it at home, you need to go see Mr. Simms in his office and leave collateral. This applies to ALL DAYS (uniform and Free Fridays). If you are caught after the first class of the day, you will be assessed ISS! You heard it right not 1 hour detention but I S S! Reminder to teachers and students that the lanyards can be school issued or your personal ones now. You must keep the ID and lanyard visible at all times. Mahalo!

To all:  students who cut a class will be given 3 hrs of detention and tardies(1 hr of detention).  If you are not coming to school due to illness or other reasons, please have your parent call in attendance or not you will be assessed 15 hours of detention. In other words since there are 5 classes and each cut is 3 hours, it equals 15 hours.  It will be up to you, the student, to correct any mistakes with the reporting teacher.  Students will need to bring a note from the teacher to Mr. Simms that the class absence was incorrectly reported.  Administration will then check with the reporting teacher before remove the 3 hrs of detention from the student's requirements. Detention will be worked off after school. Detention hours will NOT be worked off during lunch.

K: The Lahainaluna High School Administration, faculty, staff, community and most importantly the students would like to extend a warm welcome to the visiting WASC committee who will be here on campus starting next week Monday. They will be visiting classrooms, touring the campus, and conduct several meetings. Let’s all be respectful and helpful for them as much as possible. Mahalo and I mua Lahainaluna!

TO ALL SCHOOL BUS RIDERS: No school bus passes will be issued today, Friday April 1. Mahalo!

Class of 2016 seniors: Graduation announcements and cap and gowns will be distributed on April 6th during the last period of the day. Check in with your last period teacher before you report to the new cafeteria. If you have not ordered a cap and gown yet, you must do so by April 10th and the cost is $91.31. You cannot order after the April 10th date which means, you will not walk the line. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Jones in room L31.

Attention all seniors...you will be turning money and permission slips in to Mrs. Jones in room L31 during recess and lunch time. You will not be taking them to the school store. I repeat, you will not be taking them to the school store. Make sure all detention hours and withholds are cleared. Sorry for the inconvenience. The late fee is until April 8th. Payment must be cash! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Jones.

Gentlemen attending Prom! Still need a tux or suit? Tux measurements are still being taken in Ms. Abad's room (P8) during lunch. Maui Tuxedos online will have pick up and drop off before and after prom on campus saving you a trip to the other side. Come in to get your measurements by this week!

David Malo Day Ho’olaulea will be held on Saturday, April 16th on Boarders Field. The theme will be Pelehonuamea which means Sacred Earth. The Pa’ina starts at 5:00pm and the pageant put together by our Boarders Chorus and Hawaiiana Club starts at 6:00pm. To purchase the tickets for the Pa’ina, please go to the main office during morning recess and lunch. The cost is $17.00 and we accept cash only. Hope all of you can join us.

Good luck to our Robotics team as they will be competing today Friday April 1st in the 9th annual Hawaii Regional FIRST Robotics Competition at the Stan Sheriff Arena. Look for them online through thebluealliance.com team number 3882. In the San Diego Regional held at the start of the month, the team placed 24th overall and received the judge’s award. The competition will last into tomorrow, Saturday April 2nd. I mua Lahainaluna!

Anyone interested in paddling during the summer? Kahana Canoe Club is starting our regular season practices. Come down at check out the green hale at Hanakao'o Beach (Canoe beach) Monday thru Thursday at 4 pm. The practices include paddling, weightlifting and circuit training. There is no charge to join and scholarship opportunities are available. Again Monday thru Friday at 4 pm at the Kahana Canoe Club's green hale.

Seniors should be signing up for your FAFSA (financial aid) appointments. These appointments are scheduled every Wednesday. There is also a list of documents that you must also bring to your appointment, see Miss Kristy for the list of documents and to sign up for an appointment. If you haven’t scheduled an appointment yet, hurry as the last appointments will be in the 1st week of May.

Seniors applying for financial aid must apply for a Federal Student Aid ID at least a week before your appointment. Students must create an ID for themselves and ONE parent, and bring both ID's with them to their FAFSA appointment

HEY SENIORS! All local scholarships are posted on the My Future Hawaii website, see Miss Kristy for your account information. Go to myfuturehawaii.org and start applying!For help with scholarships please see Miss Kristy in the College & Career Center every day after school.

Hey Seniors! Longs Drug Store in Lahaina is offering a last minute scholarship to any student interested in pursuing a Business career. The scholarship application is posted on My Future Hawaii but you must work fast because the deadline is Wednesday, April 6. You must submit your completed application to Miss Kristy by 1:22pm on Wednesday, April 6. Any questions see Miss Kristy in the College & Career Center.

What’s happening today after school? Our boys and girls tennis team will face Molokai today 3pm at Lahaina Civic Center Tennis Courts, Our baseball team will face Kamehameha Maui 5:30pm at Iron Maehara Stadium, and our track team will be competing in the Victorino Ohana Invitational Trials 4pm at the War Memorial Stadium.  Also, this Saturday at 12 noon is our baseball team’s senior game at Iron Maehara Stadium which is located to the War Memorial Stadium if you never been to a baseball game. Special thanks to our very own Calen Matsuda who is a playing for our team and is a class of 2016 senior. Good to all and I mua Lahainaluna!
