If you are not coming to school due to illness or other reasons, please have your parent call in attendance or not you will be assessed 15 hours of detention. In other words since there are 5 classes and each cut is 3 hours, it equals 15 hours. It will be up to you, the student, to correct any mistakes with the reporting teacher. Students will need to bring a note from the teacher to Mr. Simms that the class absence was incorrectly reported. Administration will then check with the reporting teacher before remove the 3 hrs of detention from the student's requirements. Detention will be worked off after school. Detention hours will NOT be worked off during lunch. K: The Lahainaluna High School Administration, faculty, staff, community and most importantly the students would like to extend a warm welcome to the visiting WASC committee who will be here on campus starting next week Monday. K: Class of 2016 seniors: Graduation announcements and cap and gowns will be distributed on April 6th during the last period of the day. Check in with your last period teacher before you report to the new cafeteria. If you have not ordered a cap and gown yet, you must do so by April 10th and the cost is $91.31. The Pa’ina starts at 5:00pm and the pageant put together by our Boarders Chorus and Hawaiiana Club starts at 6:00pm. Kaylee to speak while its on K: Good luck to our Robotics team as they will be competing today Friday April 1st in the 9th annual Hawaii Regional FIRST Robotics Competition at the Stan Sheriff Arena. Look for them online through thebluealliance.com team number 3882. In the San Diego Regional held at the start of the month, the team placed 24th overall and received the judge’s award. Kahana Canoe Club is starting our regular season practices. Come down at check out the green hale at Hanakao'o Beach (Canoe beach) Monday thru Thursday at 4 pm. The practices include paddling, weightlifting and circuit training. There is no charge to join and scholarship opportunities are available. These appointments are scheduled every Wednesday. P: Seniors applying for financial aid must apply for a Federal Student Aid ID at least a week before your appointment. Our boys and girls tennis team will face Molokai today 3pm at Lahaina Civic Center Tennis Courts, Our baseball team will face Kamehameha Maui 5:30pm at Iron Maehara Stadium, and our track team will be competing in the Victorino Ohana Invitational Trials 4pm at the War Memorial Stadium. Also, this Saturday at 12 noon is our baseball team’s senior game at Iron Maehara Stadium which is located to the War Memorial Stadium if you never been to a baseball game.
